Implementation of a new state of the art Data Platform

Problem faced by the Organisation was they possessed huge amounts of data, but this was scattered around and siloed within isolated applications, thereby posing challenges in discoverability, accessibility and trustworthiness. We helped rectify this problem in building a Data Platform capable of ingesting data from various sources, transforming/loading data into Data Lake & Data Warehouse, performing analytics against the data, and serving & visualisation of the data. Services provide included

Migration to new Greenfield System
Planning Portal
The client embarked on revamping their flagship Product (a Planning Application Portal) and build a new Solution with richer capabilities and features. This new system was made up of multiple microservices which intercommunicated via both synchronous and asynchronous methods. Each service being responsible for a specific domain, maintained a bounded context with its own database. The Portal provided a rich Web UI to enable users to create new applications for building planning and submit them to their respective Local Planning Authorities digitally. Services provided included
- Designing and implementing a new cloud service to transmit Application data to Greater London Authority (GLA) in an asynchronous fashion.
- Designing and implementing a new cloud service to transmit Application data to Local Planning Authorities (LPA) in an asynchronous fashion.
- Both services were integrated with the Planning Portal app via Service Bus.
- Building a monitoring solution to watch health of services and sending out alerts when needed.
- Integrating with API Management Service
- Implementing OAuth 2.0 security at integration points.
- Spearheading the task of data migration from old to new system.
